• Relevance

  An exchange that went wrong, a condition of the home, an incident at the door — tie the clip to the issue it bears on.

• Authentication

  Who set up the camera, where it points, how the system stores clips, and whether this clip is unaltered — the commonly expected showings.

• Hearsay

  Spoken words inside the clip are statements with their own analysis; the images commonly are not.

• Best evidence

  Export and save the original clip promptly — overwrite cycles are days, not months. Keep the export settings that preserve timestamps.

• Privilege

  Rarely in play for your own camera; recording OTHER people's private spaces raises different problems entirely — a lawyer question.
